One of the most beautiful cities in the world has got to be Paris, and if you are planning a trip to the city of lights, it does not have to cost you a fortune, as there are some excellent free tourist attractions that will help you stretch your budget. If you save money on free attractions, it will leave you more cash for gifts, souvenirs, a little something for yourself, and most importantly, holiday insurance.

The Seine River

Of course you can hire a boat for the day, but if you want to explore the river that runs through the middle of Paris, you can do it for free. Take a stroll along the banks and pack a picnic lunch. Walk across the bridges and take your camera as each bridge is unique. Pack a picnic lunch and bring a bottle of wine. It will cost you if you want to actually buy something, but wandering around the markets in Paris is free. There is no admission fee, you can window shop and best of all, people watch. If you do want to spend a few Euros, you can barter with the vendors who sell everything from antiques to interesting and unique handcrafted items. If you do spend a day at the markets, do not forget your holiday insurance, as most of them are on the outskirts of the city.
