History :

This mansion was built in 1723 for Pierre Perrin, who was secretary to King Louis XIV (the Sun King).
In 1736 it became the property of Jean de Bataille, Sieur de Francès, and in 1788 it became the headquarters of the crown property department, under the management of Gigot de Gerville.
Gauthier de l'Ain, who was a member of the Council of Elders, resided here during the Directoire.
From 1842 to 1843, the building housed the Embassy of the Republic of Texas, whose independance (from 1836 to 1845) was first recognized by France.

"1 Vendôme" became a furnished hotel in 1858

A few years ago, The Mouawad familiy, motivated by considerations of esthetics and sponsorship, has decided to open yet an another exceptional property by undertaking the renovation of the Hôtel de Vendôme

Just as for the Grand Hôtel of Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat, also owned by Mouawad family, marbles, mosaics and period stained glass as well as the finest fabrics, chandeliers and period furniture where brought in from all over the world to create an atmosphere of sophistication and refinement
